This course is delivered and assessed on behalf of All States Training RTO 32577 by OCD Training, Assessing & Consulting.

Course Summary

This HRW Forklift Training Course is based on the National High Risk Unit of Competence TLILIC0003: Licence to operate a forklift truck.

This unit specific the skills and knowledge to operate a forklift truck safely in accordance with all relevant legislative requirements. Competence in this unit does not in itself result in a HRWL license to operate this plant. After completion of this course, under the requirements of Work Health & Safety (WHS) legislation, all applicants for High-Risk Work Licence (HRWL) licences can apply for a (HRWL) license or add a new license class on an existing HRW license.

A forklift truck means a powered industrial truck equipped with lifting media made up of a mast and an elevating load carriage to which is attached a pair of form arms or other attachments that can be raised 900mm or more above the ground, but does not include a pedestrian-operated truck or a pallet truck. This can also include trucks on which the operator is raised with the attachment for order picking.

A person performing this work is required to hold a forklift truck High Risk Work Licence (HRWL).

Throughout this unit you will learn about planning, preparing and performing work/tasks and packing up. Participants must have the physical capacity to perform the functions of using a forklift truck and must be at least 18 years old.

If you have never used a forklift truck before or you have but it was a very long time ago, we strongly urge you to also book the “Beginner Forklift Training” date in addition to the “TLILIC0003 – Licence to operate a forklift truck” dates. This Beginner Forklift Training day is designed for students who have never been on a forklift before and require intensive training on the use and handling of a forklift truck before undertaking the licencing component of the TLILIC0003 – Licence to operate a forklift truck course.

We provide the following methods of course delivery:

Face to Face:  16 hours minimum delivery, spread out over 2 days for the training of theoretical and practical components of the course. A third day is required for assessment and MUST BE at least 3 working days after the end of the face to face training days.

A HRWL will need to be renewed every 5 years and if the HRWL is not renewed within 12 months of expiry, a whole new course will need to be completed.
